New Longbow Trophy

07 Apr 2011

The Mike Hall Longbow Trophy

Long standing member of TCA, Mike Hall presented the club with a new hand carved mahogony trophy this week.

Mike carved the trophy from wood he gathered from the Niger Delta, whilst he was stationed in Nigeria, working as a pilot for the Shell oil company during the 1970's. He had started a local archery club and the carving was orginaly part of a larger bow stand. The stand had to be cut down when Mike returned to England. He has now made this into a trophy to be awarded annually to the club's best longbow archer.

CLUB FEES

18 Mar 2010

Robin has asked for the following reminder - in particular, please note the last sentence!
NFAS membership expires at the end of this month, and to date less than half of members have renewed through the club.

It would be helpful if the remainder of the fees could be passed to Robin in good time for onward transmission - cheques made payable to Tavistock Company of Archers and accompanied by the appropriate form (downloadable from NFAS website or enclosed in the Jan issue of their magazine - Robin also has a few).

If you've already paid direct or would prefer to do so, please could you let Robin know for club records.

Thanks to all who have already paid.

Don't forget that for insurance reasons anyone who hasn't renewed will not be able to shoot with our club until they do.
